An Overview of the Akashic Records
First, Understand What Akasha Means
Common Hindu Definition:
Additionally, Akasha is translated as “primordial substance”, or ether, also known as the 5th element, that out of which everything is formed.
Furthermore, Akasha means the essence of all things existing in the material world. It is where everything was made from in the beginning of earth’s history. From this 5th element, the other four elements of fire, earth, air and water were created.
Finally, many believe that the Akasha is the Fifth and is the spiritual force that our four elements of earth, air, fire, and water descended from. Some also believe that Akasha exists in every living creature and object in existence. The “Aka th sha” is most commonly known in New Age concepts as the 4th dimension and is a separate dimensional plane made up of a specific vibratory frequency.
Everyone who ever was, or will be, in our Universe, contributes to the information contained within the Akashic Records.
The Akashic Records contain the recorded history of one’s lifetime journeys as a soul since inception. Also called “The Book of Life,” the records hold the past, present and, future probabilities of a soul’s journey. In fact, the records contain all thoughts, deeds, and actions of everything. What lies therein, becomes part of the global mind, body, and consciousness. If the majority of people on earth would only think regarding harmony and brotherly love, our whole global awareness would rise to a greater level. Perhaps then, war, hunger, greed, and cruelty can be abolished forever.
The Akashic Records viewed as something mysterious, occult or even of the supernatural. If anything is real, exploring the Akashic Records is the most wonderful and completely natural, healing, and inner experience you can have. All that is required is deep relaxation, a vigilant focus, an open mind, trusting heart, and a willingness to explore the unknown.
Although religious figures and mystics have made references to the Akashic Records throughout history, the term itself originated with the 19th-century movement of Theosophy. People who have accessed the Akashic Records in the past include Nostradamus, Rudolph Steiner, Mary Baker Eddy, Emmanuel Swedenborg, Edgar Cayce, among others!
The Akashic Records contain all events and responses concerning human consciousness in all realities.
In the twentieth century, psychic and mystic, Edgar Cayce, brought the idea of the Akashic Records once again to the forefront of public awareness. He did many readings with information obtained from the Akashic Records. These became known as, “Life Readings”. These readings were highly coveted, and many high- profile and celebrities of the time, got had a reading from Cayce.
This is what Edgar Cayce had to say about the Akashic Records:
“Upon time and space is written the thoughts, the deeds, the activities of an entity – as in relationships to its environs, its hereditary influence; as directed – or judgment drawn by or according to what the entity’s ideal is. Hence, as it has been oft called, the record is God’s book of remembrance; and each entity, each soul – as the activities of a single day of an entity in the material world – either makes same good or bad or indifferent, depending upon the entity’s application of self towards that which is the ideal manner for the use of time, opportunity and the expression of that for which each soul enters a material manifestation. The interpretation then as drawn here is with the desire and hope that, in opening this for the entity, the experience may be one of helpfulness and hopefulness.”

Can Anyone Access the Akashic Records?
Anyone has the inherent ability to access the Akashic Records, yet like a unique muscle which requires exercise and training, it may not work at its optimum level on the first attempt.
Today, many qualified teachers instruct others on achieving a real presence within the records, but some of the methods taught require a lot of ritual-like invocations and teach that only through years of extensive training, can one reach the plane where the records reside. I do not believe this. I have been naturally accessing the records since childhood. I think our personal records are right at our fingertips for viewing and accessing our soul’s growth and to understand the reasons and life lessons derived from the lives we have already lived.
