Akashic Records – Part 1 In Our Series
The Akashic Records Are the Accumulation of All that Is and All That Ever Will Be
Individuals that run across the term, Akashic Records, may wonder what this means. In a nutshell, the Akashic Records is the name given to a cosmic repository that contains every individual’s entire soul history. Some refer to the Akashic Records as The Book of Life.
Additionally, the records store the memory of our planet, galaxy, and universe! You might think of the records as being a universal supercomputer containing files of data. This storehouse is like a galactic filing system of unimaginable size.
Where the Concept of the Akashic Records Originated
It’s believed by scholars and theosophists that the idea of the Akashic Records stems from ancient Vedic Scriptures originating some 3,500 years ago. The teachings of this philosophy have endured by being handed down by Hindu spiritual adepts and Tibetan Buddhist monks.
The term, Akashic, was derived from the ancient Hindu Sanskrit word, Akasha, meaning ‘ether’ or ‘atmosphere.’ The words, ‘sky’ or ‘heaven’, have also been used to describe the Akasha.
Where Are the Records Located?
Experts say that the records exist in a dimension called the Akashic Plane. Although there is some discrepancy on exactly which plane this is, most agree that the records are in either the 4th or 5th Plane. The 1st plane is our 3-dimensional earth plane.
What the Records Are Made of and How Information Gets Recorded
It is believed that the Akashic records consist of magnetic fields of light which vibrate at varying frequencies. These magnetic fields contain cosmic memory information which is imprinted on the fabric of space-time. It’s the magnetic properties of this field which enables the data to be imprinted.
What is the Nature of the Records?
Due to their unique composition of fluid magnetic light and vast accumulation of data, the records are like a transformative machine. This machine is forever spinning out future potentialities. As a result, these potentialities are source for all creative inspiration and human invention.
How The Records Shape Our Future
Although the records aren’t structured to be predictive, they can affect our future realities. This is because the records are in constant change.
The energy of the records interpenetrates our personal human energy field. This energy imprints onto the akashic field everything we say, do, and most importantly, think. Consequently, these imprints significantly influence our present and future possibilities.
I like to think of this magnetic field as being like a “busy bee” buzzing around continually depositing updates about our relationships, emotions, life events, and even belief systems.
Because the records are a part of the Divine Mind, they are directly responsible for shaping human consciousness. What we think and act on, opens doors to future directions and ultimately alters our lives. On a personal level, the records connect each of us to one another. They spin a web of all interactive human relationships. On a subconscious level, the records guide every individual human being to ultimately become the best person they can be.
Ancient Civilizations and Even the Bible Make Reference to the Records
Numerous ancient civilizations shared a belief that some kind of celestial tablets existed. These spiritual tablets were believed to chronicle the entire history of mankind.
References to a Book of Life, similar to the tablets, can be found in the Old and New Testaments of the Christian Bible.
In scripture, the first reference to a Book of Life can be found in Exodus 32:32. This is where Moses pleads to God on behalf of his Israelite flock. He begs God not to strike the Israelites’ names from the Book of Life for worshipping a golden calf. “…Out of thy book which thou hast written…”
How Did the Western World Learn about the Akashic Records?
In the late 19th Century, Madame H.P. Blavatsky wrote about the Akashic Records and other philosophical subjects. She claimed her knowledge came from time spent with Tibetan High Priests. According to Blavatsky, she’d been made privy to profound teachings on religion and philosophy which included the Akashic Records. Blavatsky is best known for founding the Theosophical Society which is still in existence today.
“Akashic is one of the cosmic principles and is a plastic matter, creative in its physical nature, immutable in its higher principles. It is the quintessence of all possible forms of energy, material, psychic, or spiritual; and contains within itself, the germs of universal creation, which sprout forth under the impulse of the Divine Spirit.”
H. Blavatsky from Alchemy and Secret Doctrine
The Western World’s most recognized and influential awareness of the existence of the Akashic Records resulted from the Life Readings channeled by modern-day mystic, Edgar Cayce, (1877 – 1945).
Edgar Cayce is best known for his accurate naturopathic medical diagnoses and cures. Cayce obtained his information by going into a deep state of trance and questions about an individual’s medical condition were put to Cayce. Cayce provided answers as to the nature of the ailment and instructions for a cure. A majority of the time, suggested cures were successful if the instructions given to Cayce were implicitly followed. Cayce attributed the information as coming from a Collective group of elevated beings that resided in the higher octaves of the *Astral Plane.
Edgar Cayce states in his biography, There is a River, that he discovered the existence of the Akashic Records quite by accident. A client had written and requested information on past lives. After going into his usual trance, incredibly, Cayce immediately began describing various past lives that the individual had lived. Amazed, Cayce asked his guides where the information had come from. The guides revealed that the information had come directly from the Akashic Records.
The Hall of Records
The Akashic Records are often referred to as “The Hall or Library of Records.”
Due to the Life Readings that were done by Edgar Cayce, most individuals imagine the Hall, or Library, of Records as a being magnificent building with massive doors. Inside, one might envision rows of books, or scrolls, stacked on shelves which seem to stretch into infinity.
The actuality of the records is that they are not books or scrolls at all. As previously stated, the files are an energetic vibration. It is this energy vibration that translates into images, forms, symbols, imagery, and language that the human mind can comprehend and interpret.
Every Individual Has Access to Their Soul’s Record
The Akashic Records are actually everywhere within and around us. They are ready to be accessed at any time. Anyone with the desire can access information from the records and indeed we often unconsciously do it quite a lot. Flashes of intuition and knowing hunches occur to us every day . These glimpses are the divine wisdom contained in the records. Even our dreams include excursions into the records — although most people do not recognize them as such.
In visiting the records, you can realize the meaning of your existence through viewing the myriad of lifetimes lived. You will find answers to many facets of your current life and gain valuable insights. Furthermore, you might even glimpse future life possibilities.
Does Science Back Up the Theory that the Akashic Records Really Exist?
According to the the Quantum Physics Theory, science now says there are countless dimensions in our Universe.
In his groundbreaking book, The Source Field Investigations, renown author, David Wilcock, writes extensively about a field that is unseen which guides all humankind.
“Our destinies on this earth are being carefully and meticulously guided–by a living intelligence the entire Universe is built from.”
In his book, Science and the Akashic Field, Ervin Laszlo, describes a specific A field. This A, or Akashic Field, is comparable to the Zero Point Field — meaning thoughts equal matter or thoughts become things. Therefore, what we think becomes an energetic imprint in the Akashic field.
In his subsequent books, Laszlo write more extensively about the A field and how it similarly aligns with ancient Hindu spiritual tradition.
