The Healing Powers of Essentials Oils

You can download our chart of Essential Oils and their uses at the bottom.

Essential Oils are nothing short of miraculous. They have been used to significantly improve people’s lives for millennia. The ancients knew that oils derived from certain plants offered a variety of benefits from dietary regulation to spiritual and religious use and even cosmetics use. In the last several decades, the use of essential oils has once again become popular for modern users and I’m not just referring to New Agers! Even medical entities which may have dissed the effectiveness of essential oils in the 20th century, are currently endorsing the use of special oils to provide emotional and physical well-being. They are now saying that the use of various essential oils can relieve body ailments, learning disabilities, insomnia, depression, and more.

Essential Oils can be used for:

~ Mood enhancement

~ Treating a burn

~ Digestion

~ Spiritual awareness

~ Psychic protection

~ and Great sex among other things…

Throughout the day and sometimes at night, I often have a lot of thoughts banging around in my head. Many of these are about setting up new classes on Imagine Spirit and how I might best get these class notifications out to the world via the Internet. To get a little relief from my raging ideas, I use lavender oil. I just drop some oil into a spritzer and spray all my rooms with it. It smells great, and I know I am reaping the benefits as my sometimes overworked brain calms down quickly. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… You might start with using lavender oil if you are new to essential oils.

Because of my strong psychic and empathic senses, another situation where I use an essential oil is when I’m out in public. It’s always possible for me to pick up some really negative thought forms of others. To prevent this, I dab on a little protection oil such as, “Young Living Angelica Oil”, before leaving the house. It really helps!

There is no set of rules that specify which essential oil should be used to treat any health condition or mental state so be proactive and do research on each oil that you are interested in trying. Many oils can accomplish much the same thing. If you happen to have allergies to scents, there are different ways you can use them. You can even dab a drop of oil on your body—like at the neck or wrist. Read about each oil for possible application methods. Additionally, it is important to dilute the oils properly if so required. Be sure to pay attention to your individual reactions, and observe carefully for adverse effects.

Important Note! If you have a particular medical condition, such as high blood pressure or respiratory problems, do not use essential oils without consulting a doctor. Also, these oils must not be taken internally, and always store them away from open flames.

Lime Oil

Lime oil can be used for purification, physical energy, and protection. With a refreshing citrus scent, Lime essential oil smells just like freshly sliced limes. When diffused, this summery aroma can uplift your environment, be used as a scrub, and diffused as aromatherapy.

This essential oil can be used to spice up food. Yep. Food! It also has great kitchen uses for clean-up and removing stubborn food from dishes.

Vetiver Oil

Vertivert oil, or vetiver oil, is used for protection and acquiring or managing money. But, that’s just the beginning!

This amazing essential oil can be used as a painkiller, (I once used it for a toothache until I could get into the dentist), muscular aches, and also helps to reduce the dryness and cracking of the skin. It is supposed to eliminate scars, reduce inflammation, prevent bacterial infections, and is said to help with nervous disorders. Recent research claims vetiver oil is fantastic for treating symptoms of ADHD and ADD. It’s also known to treat insomnia.

Cinnamon Oil

Cinnamon oil can be used to boost physical energy, psychic awareness, and prosperity. As aromatherapy, Cinnamon oil been highly touted as a natural remedy for health issues ranging from cough and colds to constipation. More awesome benefits include stimulating circulation, reducing stress, relieving pain, fighting off infections, improving digestion, and as a protection against insects.

Clary Sage Oil

Clary Sage essential oil is added to soaps, detergents, creams, lotions, and perfumes. In fact, it is the main component of Eau de Cologne, a well-known scent that originated in Cologne, Germany.

Apart from potentially treating eye health-related problems, clary sage oil is also used to help calm the nervous system, especially during times of stress, depression, and insomnia. If you’re new to aromatherapy, I suggest trying out clary sage oil to experience its anxiety-fighting effects.

Clary Sage can also help assuage menstrual issues (cramps and hot flashes), promote relaxation during childbirth and ease menopause symptoms.
